12TH ANNUAL DARE FESTIVAL

The Bonner Springs Police Department and Sandstone Amphitheater, in cooperation with metropolitan area law enforcement agencies, are pleased to announce the 12th annual Kansas City Metropolitan Area DARE Festival.  Sandstone Amphitheater has graciously donated the use of their amphitheater for a celebration of our students’ decision to be drug and violence free.  This is the 12th annual festival and is the longest running bi-state DARE Festival. Last year over 80 elementary schools participated in our festival.  We hope to increase that number and include your school in our festival.

The festival is scheduled for Tuesday, May 11, 2010 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The gates will open at 10:00 a.m. There is no admittance fee and parking is free.  Only DARE students who have completed the DARE instruction during the 2009-2010 school year are invited.  Please distribute copies of this invitation accordingly.

Lower seating has been removed, students will be sitting in the upper seats or on concrete.

Festivities tentatively to include:

·         RETRO BILL serving as Master of Ceremonies

·         DARE Students choirs from Kansas & Missouri Schools

·         Guest Speakers from the Attorney General’s Office

·         Area Sports Mascots & Possibly Players

·         Dance Teams
